Money Matters is an engaging card game that transforms financial learning into an interactive experience. Players navigate real-world challenges while building practical skills and civic awareness.

The project targets youth, adults, and teachers/trainers, using an inclusive, interdisciplinary approach. The game integrates real-world financial scenarios with interactive gameplay, promoting critical thinking, collaboration, and economic empowerment.

GAME OVERVIEW

Card Types

1. Challenge cards (30 cards)

Real-world financial dilemmas like delayed paychecks, unexpected repairs, or student loan decisions.

Example: “Your car breaks down and repairs exceed your budget. What do you do?”

2. Tool Cards (30 cards)

Practical solutions and resources like budgeting apps, savings strategies, and community support.

Example: “Budgeting App – Track your expenses daily and reroll a challenge.”

3. Event Cards (30 cards)

Unexpected life events that force players to adapt quickly, just like in real life.

Example: “You’re laid off from your job. How do you adjust your budget?”

WINNING GOAL

Be the first to solve 5 Challenge Cards, collect 5 Tool Cards, and earn 3 Civic Points to become the Community Finance Champion!

LANGUAGES

Available in English, Finnish, and Italian with culturally adapted scenarios for authentic learning.

Civic Combo Bonus

When your tool helps another player, both receive +1 Civic Point, encouraging collaboration and community support.

Crisis Mode

If you draw two negative Event Cards in a row, request a bonus Tool Card to help navigate difficult times.
